This book seems to have some decent information, but it is full of typos and factual errors. I'm only 13% through the book and have found the following:The author describes how to set ExecutionPolicy to "RemoteSigned", but not why or what the other options are."You might find that you prefer a different size of font, a new color for the background or a large bugger size." [bugger?]"However, they will only stay as you see them if you open PowerShell again from the location where the changes were made, i.e. you or desktop." [you or?]The author shows how to create a profile script, but provides no information about what the commands mean or why the file is stored where it is."Selective execution – choose to run part of your script by highlighting the section and pressing F5 or clicking on Run Script." [Wrong. F5 runs the entire script. Selective execution is F8.]"Open the PowerShell ISE by:" (Using the Start menu is described correctly) " Or -- Opening PowerShell console. Open the Run box and type in CMD.exe or PowerShell_ise.exe. [Nonsense! The first suggestion would open the standard Command window.]
Badly written and filled with inaccurate examples. "We've already learned this" came up in Chapter Two with regard to something that was never previously covered. I returned it, and I'll try another book on the same topic.
At least in e-book form, there are ridiculous amounts of typos and grammatical errors that make it difficult to make sense of, especially for someone trying to grasp it with 0 scripting experience, but there's enough information I would still recommend it so long as you follow it with another intro book which will hopefully make a bit more sense after beating your head against this one.

I had been flirting with the idea of learning Powershell for quite sometimes but it can be a little scary to learn a new thing right from the absolute basics. It was interesting to find this book because it deals with Powershell from the absolute basics thus making it very easy to get started.I definitely recommend this book.
I might give the admin side some time as well, aside from the programming languages that I would like to learn. Learning this would give me such knowledge and skills that I need to know. Powershell seems to be interesting as well.
