Cute book! It's fun reading the little segments to my 3-year-old son to get him excited about our next Disneyland trip. But, it's pretty limited. Very much a "primer" to Disneyland with some cute illustrations. I would love more detailed maps, info about attractions, and more photos, especially. The maps are pretty useless, and there are illustrations where there should be photos in many places. The attractions need more detailed info in terms of height requirements, typical wait times, etc. I guess I was expecting a more traditional guide book geared toward kids, not a storybook featuring some Disneyland facts.

Excellent book - very visual, fun and full of cool Disneyland facts. Really enjoyed the history portions. The kids recited the small known facts each day we were at the park, and still, weeks after our trip, look thru the book and recount memories from the various rides. The art style is fun and we all learned quite a bit about Disneyland in the process. Now they just need to add a California Adventure one!

This book is fantastic! We try to visit Disneyland every year and have several books on the subject. I bought this for the kids to get excited for an upcoming trip. They absolutely devoured the contents of this book and have been sharing new and interesting facts with me all day. It's a beautiful and refreshing take on the park and has been a great way to share my love for Disneyland with the kids. I loved the fact that she included maps that were simple and large enough to read. It's a very nice balance of information and fun. Totally worth it! Thanks!

I just love this book. I purchased it for my 9 yr.old granddaughter who was granted a wish from the Make a Wish Foundation. Her wish was to go to Disneyland, and that special wish will come true in November of this year. I first purchased in for me on my Kindle, so I would be in the loop and I wanted to see what she would be receiving from Amazon in the mail. It is so well written, with so much detail !! This book will keep her very busy for the months to come and when her wish is granted she will be well versed in what to do and where to go. The games are superb, and will keep her very busy.I will also be ready to enjoy this wish with her.

This book is so amazing! From the artwork to all the little trivia bits that I had no idea about! The illustrations keep both myself and my 2 year old son smiling from ear to ear on every page. Loving the little board game at the end too! You can tell a lot of love went into the making of this book. So glad I made this purchase!!! It's worth every penny, and more!

Love this book! My kids thought it was so fun and they are baby to age 5. My2yo said it is his favorite book. My mom loved mine so much I bought one for her too. Ours is now also full of autographs from our trip. It was a big hit with each character as the cast members looked it over and showed the characters how awesome it is. We also went to her Etsy shop and bought all the matching buttons. The book is beautiful, fun to read, full of interesting facts and helpful info, and light enough to carry around the park with you.

Book is filled with Disney information and activities. My co-worker got one and treasures it after their visit. Provides children with what the ride is and just as important activities (not video games) to quickly pass time in lines. Most books like this focus on "how" to visit the park. The author provides a guide on experiencing Disney to the fullest with an heirloom book to share with family, keeping our fond memories fresh for years.

My son loves this book. We are Disney world nuts. Since we live in Florida we go to Disney World a lot. Our family finally made a trip to Disneyland and love how this book informed us as a family and my eight year old son could read it easily and be interactive with it at the same time by writing in it. He would remind us of facts he learned. Great book!

Love the way she calls it like she saw it and, equally important like she felt it. You never feel like you are on the outside looking in thru somewhat dirty or opaque like window. You feel as though you are in her mind and body riding along with the times and events. I've always been a constitutional conservative.....We are who she says we are, and yes we have our overly tolerant side, pugnacious side and yes our in your face side. But, when our faces and hearts get red, and hard, we do so because we "Care". I was born in 1941.....spent 30 years in the military and about 13 yrs in Corp America......I've lived thru all of what she's described and that includes Pres Reagan. I was a good soldier like my father and his father before him. I've learned and continue to learn much. And, come to the same conclusions she has come in this wonderful book. Mr. President and Mr. Vice President you would do well to read this book and, heed the words at the end. It took years to get you where you are, years of emotional and economic strain and stress on WTP.......not matter their voting pleasure. Laura and oh so many others have carried the banners for decades and, she is right along with other wise men and women........WTP are hear now and, you will lose if you stray from your promises and stray from the paths you said you would lead the nation down. She is right, ignore the detractions, stick to the message, market the message to the right folks and, never hesitate to make WTP a part of the solution not just be the problem. Her greatest suggestion is a conclusion I came to months ago.....she is right. you need to get out among the folks who sent you there, where Bo went out and played golf, you need to go out and, be where you are, in your heart with WTP.......She is right about all those things at the end of the book. And, to Laura, God Bless You young lady and your children they are lucky to have you as their mother........I know it would be a blessing if you became a member of congress.......but, in my heart, you calling is to do what you are doing now, unfettered by the trappings and norms of Office.......Your book is one of the best I've read. This is the way History should be written for those who don’t have time to study at length. I am already on my second reading for three reasons. One, to solidify all the historical aspects I learned (& didn’t quite understand as a teen growing up in the 80s), two, allow the inspirational parts of the book (ie: many quotes by Reagan) to inspire my character, and three, to resolve the question of where I’m at politically. This is a superb reading on ‘what is conservative populism?’ My i’s are dotted and t’s are crossed. Thank you Laura Ingraham!

This book is subtitled “The Populist Revolution from Reagan to Trump.” That resonated with me because my life has coincided with Ms. Ingraham's in time and political sentiment. It lives up to its title of tightly linking the policies of Reagan to those of Trump. Ms. Ingraham begins by explaining the Conservative Populist foundations of Reagan and Trump:=====Conservatism and populism overlap in their opposition to “big things” --- big government, big international organizations, big media, big business cronyism. These distant, uncaring entities rob people of decision making and ignore their interests.Conservative populists tend to support a policy of economic nationalism --- people-centered economic policies that put the nation and its workers first….They also believe high taxes are bad because they sap workers’ wages and economic freedom. Similarly, they are against huge trade deals and international organizations like the World Trade Organization because they take power out of the hands of voters and give it to a far-away and often hostile global elite.Trump won because his message of economic nationalism and a less interventionist foreign policy reflects the will of the people. He won because he vowed to put America first again. He won because both parties had gotten fat off the status quo, while many in the middle were being squeezed….He won because Americans had had it --- with Washington’s failed promises, with political correctness, with open borders, and with career politicians, consultants, pollsters, and pundits.The elites had been blindsided before ---by Reagan’s 1980 election. Many in the party dismissed him as well. He was just an actor. American workers DESERVE the opportunity to work making products to export to other countries.”Then we discovered that American companies rarely ever use free trade agreements to export American-made products to other countries. They use them to put millions of Americans who already have good jobs out of work. They move the Americans’ jobs to Mexico and China, and produce goods there to import into the USA. Then they slander the American workers whose jobs they stole: “American workers are lazy, maleducated, and stupid. They deserve to lose their jobs.”I saw the USA economy start to die off in 1998 due to jobs-destroying “free trade” deficits. I sold my stocks, thereby avoiding the disastrous stock market crashes of the early 2000’s. I’ve seen the wreck and ruin of bad trade deals up close and personal.Having married into an immigrant Hispanic family, I have also seen all sides of the immigration issue, including the harmful effects of open borders and illegal immigration, which hurts legal immigrant as well as American citizens.Like Ms. Ingraham, I've begun to understand that the Republican and Democratic party establishments have been brainwashed by corporation money into believing that it’s a good thing when Americans lose their jobs to predatory foreign trade, and that America’s legacy population should be dis-employed, encouraged to die early, and be replaced with a tidal wave of foreigners. I gave up on the old Republican Establishment Party in 2012 when I voted for Obama in desperation. In November, 2013, I predicted that Donald Trump would rise to lead a reincarnated Republican Party:=====Mr. Trump occupies an important place in the political spectrum --- that of being a Republican Populist. He understands that if we're ever going to get our economy back on its feet the wage-earning middle class will have to prosper along with investors, who are recovering our fortunes in the stock market. IMO whichever party nominates a candidate like Trump that really "gets" the idea that the economy is suffering because the middle class can't find employment at livable wages, will be the party that rises to dominance. Mr. Trump at least understood that essential fact of American economic life.====Ms. Ingraham sees it that way too:=====Reagan’s transformative presidency inspired a new generation of young conservatives (like myself)—and Trump’s, if successful, can do the same. But it won’t be easy. We know what doesn’t work: global trade deals that enrich other countries at the expense of our own workers; lax immigration policies that compromise the nation’s security, health care system, schools, and jobs; a tax and regulatory regime that stifles economic growth and competitiveness, and strangles innovation; and an imprudent interventionist foreign policy that costs us trillions of dollars and thousands of American lives. For decades a bipartisan Establishment blindly embraced these ruinous policies. The resulting economic and personal pain, felt across the vast American landscape, has fueled the rise of populism and its stalwarts—from Goldwater to Reagan, Buchanan to Trump.====My main takeaway from this book is that the Republican Establishment is even more out-of-touch than I thought. Laura Ingraham weaves her own rich life experience into the story. If you’re a Conservative Populist who voted for Trump, she’s telling your story too. If you’re a person who didn’t vote for Trump, this book will help you understand the hearts and minds of people who did.

This book is a home run for persons that truly want to follow the events and policies that created where the country is today. Laura Ingraham has written a book that is readable and concise. I am very impressed with her presentation and delivery. I had no idea that she had the talent exhibited in this publication.

I've been hearing about Berserk more or less since I really got into manga, but it was only recently that I truly decided to look into it. I had heard that it was violent and bloody, but I never thought much of it, believing it would be something along the lines of Rurouni Kenshin or You You Hakusho. I could not have been farther from the truth. And I could not be happier about it. Berserk is truly the single most violent and gory manga I have ever come across, but the story is intriguing enough to keep me engaged.The story itself follows a man named Guts. Yes, Guts, like intestines. It's actually quite fitting considering how many times *SPOILER* he slices someone in half. Guts is a main character I feel we don't see enough of in manga: an antihero. He's not the virtuous knight in shining armor. He's rude, he's crude, he's violent, and more often than not he comes off as a psychopathic jerk. But for some reason, I still enjoy his character. Most of the time it seems he's fueled solely by anger and revenge, but that's what makes the few short moments when he seems to truly care all the more special. We don't see any of Guts past explained in this volume, but we get hints that he's been through something horrible. It's enough to keep you coming back for more.Now as for the artwork, I must admit I was a bit taken aback for a moment. Most of my life, I've dealt with much lighter artwork and stories. However, within a few pages, I began to fall in love with the artwork of Berserk. The shading is very heavy on most pages, something that usually doesn't go over so well in manga. Heavy shading can quickly make things blur together and disappear so that you have no idea what's going on the page, but not in this case. Kentaro Miura somehow manages to heavily shade nearly every panel and somehow build in incredible amount of depth with his images, and without making the panels look too busy.Now I'm going to talk about the one thing that seems to turn most people away from Berserk (besides the gore). The pricetag. Many of the volumes went out ofnprint in the last couple of years, and scalpers are ready to take advantage of the hardcore fans. Check the prices of certain volumes, and you're looking at a price of $50-$2000. Yes, you readnthat right. I've seen a copy of an out of print volume listed in "fair to poor condition" for $2000. Do NOT pay over $20 for these books. Dark Horse, the English publisher of Berserk, is aware of the scarcity and the pricejacking. They are currently reprinting the series in order of scarcity. I myself am an impatient little narwhal, but I'm also a frugal one. I overpaid for two of the volumes before doing any major research to see if there would be a reprinting. I don't plan to make that mistake again. My lessons to you today, my darlings, is to just be patient. Dark Horse is working toward fixing the scarcity issues. Only buy the volumes when the price is right.Now, my word of warning to all of you who are new to this series: Nothing can really prepare you for this series. It's violent, and bloody, it's downright disgusting at times. There is sex, and nudity, and even rape. There are demons and monsters so horribly ugly that you've never seen the like, even in your worst nightmares. I've read manga like Attack on Titan. It pales in comparison, in my humble opinion. This series is hellish in all the right ways, and it's got this gal hooked. I love everything about it so far, and I plan to stay with it for the long haul.

This review is about the Kindle edition itself - Berserk is Berserk - you know it's in the running for the greatest manga of all time and a masterwork of literature.BLUF: If you really want to read the manga, go to a website or get a manga downloader. However, this is a great way to show support for the artist if you don't want to buy the physical copies whether due to cost or because it takes up too much space.The fidelity of scans is very good and about the same as the best scanlation sites. I haven't seen any errors in terms of scan-in. However, due to Kindle software limitations, I would consider this to be inferior to a manga. The most important reason is the Kindle doesn't allow you to view two-page spreads. Some of Miura's best artwork is when he combines two pages for one image and the Kindle only lets you view a page at a time. Further, you can't zoom in or out like you would for a website. On the plus side, you have the advantage of a lower price, no shipping, and no space required for the physical book.

Finally Berserk came to kindle. Maybe Amazon/Kentaro got tired of me clicking the kindle request button :)The image quality is decent, not much difference from the old hardcopies I have seen. I was hoping that these ones would come with the intro colour pages like the digital copies in Japan come with but beggers can't be choosers. Normally I wouldn't buy 38 volumes for over 300 bucks but this was the exception.... because it's Berserk :)Hopefully the digital copies sell well to convince the other digital holdouts in Japan to change their minds and stop leaving money on the table.

Ever Since I saw the anime, I began reading the manga online, and then I thought to myself, where I spend my money, there goes what I support. This is the reason why I bought this book. I have seen many Anime in my life, but none come close to the sheer darkness of Berserk. Berserk is what got me started into sword training, to train stronger like never before, to be the kind of man that can wield weapons bigger than myself. Berserk taught me to become stronger, and in becoming stronger, I developed a strength I didn't know I had. The strength to become BERSERK.I bought this book because I believe in Kentaro Miura, and his work for Berserk. I want him to continue and I support him by buying this book. I will forever keep this book as a memento of this discovery, someday, my children will be presented to Berserk, and when they do, I will become the Skull-knight of bed time stories.Long live, BERSERK!

Recommended for dark fantasy fans, dark soul fans, and individuals who enjoy a story with complex characters.Not Recommended for children unless you really want nightmares when you go to bed every night, not for the light-hearted, and definitely not for the light-hearted seriously.Overall Berserk's main plot device is simple, but what makes the Berserk go above and beyond the simple plot device is the character building. Characters will tug at your emotions, they will grow on you, you will begin to care about them, and you will want to see how the curtain closes for each person.

Awesome!! 1st time reading manga; understand why so many people enjoy these stories. Will continue on and try to finish the entire series! might take a while but sounds like its the right direction. artwork is sublime!

This book is focused on risk management for a financial firm, and is mainly devoted to the analysis of financial risk. Some interesting ideas arise: (i) Risk management is too important a responsibility for managers to delegate it. (ii) Risk management is about taking advantage of opportunities: “controlling the downside and exploiting the upside” (distinguishing between downside risk and upside opportunity). (iii) The only outcome that matters is future cash flow and profits of the firm.Here I summarize some of the main ideas from each Chapter:In Chapter 1 the author presents some concepts about risk measurement and management.Chapter 2 has a very interesting discussion on probability and intuition, including a nice set of examples on how intuition might fool you in measuring probabilities. It discusses Frequency type and Bayesian type probabilities.In Chapter 3 Coleman shows the importance of soft managerial skills in risk management discussing the importance of managing people, processes, data, etc. In my opinion this discussion is too light and brief given its importance in the final outcome. In the section Organizational Structure, there is an interesting discussion regarding the structure of the risk management department and the role of the CROIn Chapter 4 the author lists and discusses several financial disasters. They are separated into Idiosyncratic and Systemic problems. There is not much more than that, but the data in interesting. The list of lessons learned in Page 119 is worth reading.Chapter 5 presents quantitative risk measurement techniques, with a strong emphasis on VaR (including a brief discussion on the models to estimate it) and volatility. The discussion continues with a discussion of how to treat tail events and tools for analyzing risk. The section concludes with a discussion on risk reporting, before moving to the analysis of credit risk.In Chapter 6 the author provides a very (too) brief discussion of the limitations of the models presented in the previous chapter. They basically are: (i) Models not include all risk positions, (ii) risk measures in general are backward looking, (iii) VaR does not measure “worst case scenario”, (iv) quantitative techniques are complex, (v) quantitative risk measures does not properly represent risk eventsChapter 7 presents some brief conclusionsOverall, I think this is a good book, worth reading, especially if you are interested in Financial Risk Management for financial institutions.

If you're interested in financial risk management, you should read this ebook. Assuming you have some comfort with economics, finance and mathematics, "A Practical Guide to Risk Management" does a great job explaining both qualitative and quantitative facets of the field. At times it's even entertaining, which is no small feat considering the often technical nature of the subject matter. What struck me most about the book is the sincerity of Coleman's text. Rather than adding mystique to what many already consider a fairly arcane part of finance, he strives to make the subject matter as accessible as possible. It's very clearly written with numerous examples. Highly recommended.By the way, in case anyone's wondering, the sigma notation for equation 5.3a is based on the covariance matrix. What this essentially means is that sigma-11 and sigma-22 are variances, not standard deviations. I was a bit rusty in terms of stats notation; however, fortunately, the author was kind enough to respond to my e-mail regarding what the different variables represented.

Interesting introduction to risk management, its possibilities and limitations.

Coleman's book does an excellent job of highlighting the importance of the qualitative aspects of risk management. This is in contrast to most other books that focus solely on quantitative issues. Here is my favorite quote from the book:"The ultimate goal for risk management is to build a robust yet flexible organization and set of processes. We need to recognize that quantitative risk measurement tools often fail to capture just those unanticipated events that pose the most risk to the organization. The art of risk management is in building a culture and organization that can respond to and withstand these unanticipated events."Robert Litterman, in his Foreward to the book, notes an important point that is often overlooked:"Coleman emphasizes throughout that the management of risk is not a function designed to minimize risk. Although risk usually refers to the downside of random outcomes, as Coleman puts it, risk management is about taking advantage of opportunities: controlling the downside and exploiting the upside."This highly readable book is an excellent introduction to risk management, and those who want more can read the expansion to this book that will be published shortly by Wiley. well explained, and in a way the autor present the subject in a phylosophical way, the examples are very clear and good if you want to understando how risk is involved not only in finance industry.

This book, as the title suggests, is more of a practical reference guide rather than a rigorous mathematical treatment of risk. There are some great examples given which clarify some of the psychology of how risk can be misinterpreted. This book will point the reader in the direction of other relevant texts to further their study.

After reading "The Secret Of The Holy Rosary",I got a copy of another little book by Saint Louis Marie De Monfort entitled "The Secret Of Mary".This book provides the reader how to form the best relationship we could possibly have with the Blessed Virgin Mary in order to get closer to Jesus. It follows the basic principle of getting to Jesus through Mary. According to De Monfort, we can do this through prayer, getting to know oneself and improving ourselves into the best person we could possibly be by acquiring the virtues the the Blessed Virgin possess such as faith,humility,spirituality,obedience and many others. The book offers advice on how to do this.Aside from that, this easy-to-read book will teach the reader various prayers to Mary as well as to Jesus himself through other Marian prayers that we could use in our daily prayers.Let every Catholic take hold of this book and acquire the basics of loving,veneration and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary,the mother of Jesus. This is definitely a good companion to Saint Louis' other Marian book, "True Devotion To Mary" and the Holy Bible.

The book Secret of Mary is a follow-on book to another book entitled True Devotion to Mary written by St. Louis de Montfort between 1700 and 1716. The Secret of Mary is basically the True Devotion to Mary in short form - that is not to say that it replaces True Devotion to Mary in any way. A much more condensed book than True Devotion to Mary, it contains much of the material that is contained in True Devotion but it is not in as much depth nor should it be used to replace True Devotion to Mary. I love the book The Secret of Mary and say daily and nightly prayers from it every single day. I carry it on any travels so that I will always have both Mary and St. Louis de Montfort with me at all times. I didn't mention but feel that I should - I am a follower of St. Louis de Montfort and have consecrated myself entirely to Jesus Christ through the Blessed Virgin Mary, His mother.I recommend this book to anyone who has a desire to be closer to Mary and, through her, to her Son Jesus. By the way, there really is a Secret of Mary somewhere in this book and those of us who are already concecrated are not permitted to speak of it. READ THE BOOK -- FIND THE SECRET OF MARY!

Am finding this beautiful sweet small book a bit difficult to read, other than the print being small which, of course, it would be within such a little book; 'tis that I have trouble with "secrets" as topic titles &/or within text; kept wondering why I was objecting until after"secret" throughout (so far, reading not complete) I switched to Garry Wills book of the Rosary, happen to like Wills very much~ the cover art on the two Louis de Montfort books I have is worth buying the books and am certain eventually I will finish both"secret" books, but for immediate refresher guidance about the Rosary, I personally prefer the Garry Wills book.

Mary truly helps. Her intercession is powerful. If you persevere in this devotion daily. you will find Mary and She will lead you to Jesus. Experience is the key. You must persevere. Thanks be to God, for in HIS mercy, HE has given us Mary. It's a small book, you can carry it in your pocket or your car and either put about 15 min aside to either read some of it, or pray some of the prayers. This Secret of Mary is Truly a jewel.

I'm a little confused. I thought this would provide all of the necessary prayers and preparations to make the consecration to Jesus through Mary, written by St. Louis de Montfort, but all it contains is the (very beautiful) explanation of why to make the consecration. It seems like part of the book has been left out. Also, I noticed other commenters mentioned a small, pocket-sized book. The one I received was a large, 8.5" x 11" version. It almost makes me think I received the wrong book!

The Secret of Mary is an excellent guide to St. Louis de Montfort's seminal work, True Devotion to Mary. I highly recommend this book to all who wish to come to a better understanding of Mary's role as the Mother of Christ and how this reality is a source of grace in today's hurting world.

Great little pamphlet on Mary. Very well written and contains many devotional prayers. Good to further your understanding of The Blessed Mother.

St. Louis De Montfort brings hope to anyone by bringing him or her to Our Lady of Divine Grace. For She is Our Hope in all turmoil. Consecrating yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary's Immaculate Heart is salvation. Our Lady has always kept Her promise. Also pray the Holy Rosary and wear the Brown Scapular daily and you will see a difference from what you knew before.
