This is the ONLY book for nurses on caring for patients who are on the spectrum and addresses the entire lifespan. What an important topic! So little is truly discussed about ASD in healthcare overall. This book dispels the misconceptions and gives practical information. My only complaint is that I am not a fan of books with chapters written by individual authors- it disrupts the continuity for me. However, bravo on the content. As a critical care nurse, nursing educator, and mother of 2 boys on the spectrum, I'm grateful this work is out there. It should be updated to reflect the DSM-V changes more (the book is from 2012) but, nonetheless, I will be recommending this to my kids primary care, neurology, and psychiatry offices.
